This is my dearest one and the one I have had since I was about 3 years old. Melissa is my sister (biologically AND spiritually). We are knit together at the heart and I literally cried on the phone with her yesterday because I miss her so much (she’s in CA and I’m in AR). She is creative, loyal, passionate, generous, wise, and all around beautiful.
It’s because of this friendship and several others that I am challenged to grow, pointed to Jesus, enjoy companionship, and am an overall better woman. I think she might say the same too.
We are declaring August to be Bricklayer’s friendship month. You can expect posts twice a week that will address questions, give biblical insights, highlight ways to enjoy and appreciate your friends, and help you be a better friend too.
Who are some of your best friends and what do you love about them? Join us this month as we explore the beauty of friendship.
Don’t know who took this adorable photo, otherwise, I’d give that person credit.
“Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel.”
It might seem as though the Bricklayers website went into a bit of a hibernation in July.
Well, not to worry, we aren’t sleeping. We are preparing for the next season.
Cristina has been busy moving to Arkansas, the new Bricklayers Leadership team for the Orange County chapter is forming and meeting, and the blog is scheduled to be up and running twice a week as of August 1st.
Be sure to check back here for more encouraging content, practical tips for drawing near to Jesus, and preparing for marriage. In the meanwhile, here’s a refreshing reminder to be faithful to Him:
“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”
Hi ladies! I’m a newbie at all the cool technology available to us, but I finally figured out how to record a video from the MacBook directly on YouTube. Sooooo, here’s my first video from my home to yours! We’d love to have you come to the meeting next Monday.
Want to be involved with decision-making for this ministry? Want to serve by preparing for events, classes, or workshops? Want to contribute to the blog or social media outlets for Bricklayers? We want to talk with you! Come hear how you can use your skills, talents, abilities, passions, and creativity to invest in the lives of other women like you.

Last year I was in Vienna, Austria with my husband a few weeks after we got married. After we toured the imperial summer palaces, we spent time with God on top of the hill overlooking the whole city.
The passage I read was Proverbs 9. The words were jumping off the page as I envisioned the two contrasting scenes between Wisdom’s house and Folly’s house. May you be wise and accept the invitation of Lady Wisdom who calls you to “walk in the way of insight” (9:6).
By the way, my hair is a bit funky in the video. Enjoy my “travel hair” as I share some of what God was teaching me on this trip!
“Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still;
teach the righteous and they will add to their learning…
If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you;
if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.”
As you probably know, I’m about to embark on a 4 week Bricklayers summer series during the 4 Mondays in June.
I wanted to ask if you would be willing to commit to pray not only for me as I teach, but also for the women’s hearts to be “fertile soil” (Matt 13:8) that God’s Word and truth would soak into their lives and bear much fruit that will last (John 15:16). Pray for the Holy Spirit’s presence to be strong throughout this summer series.
If this is something you would like to commit to pray till the end of June, would you let me know through an email to firstname.lastname@example.org saying: “I will pray” so that I know who to continue to send prayer update emails to?
Also, if you are in the Orange County area, you are welcome to come and sit in on any of the four classes that will take place at the ROCKHARBOR Costa Mesa campus. All the information is on our homepage and on our Facebook Page.
One of our prayers has already been answered: we asked God to provide us with a professional videographer so we can make this class available to girls in other regions. In a matter of 2 weeks, God answered our prayer today with an excellent videographer who is offering his services to us at a generous discount. Praise God!!
Tomorrow we have a group of women gathering to share life experiences and learn from one another. A panel of women will respond to questions submitted by you: bricklayers (aka hot and holy women). You are welcome to come and join us for this spring brunch. AND you are welcome to bring your friends.
Here’s the info:
