Celebrating the women who are Beautiful Bricklayers

My favorite thing about being involved with this ministry is simply getting to know some phenomenal women (who are actually featured in this short clip).

One particular friend, Laura Vencill, is one that blesses me on a regular basis.  This ministry actually started in my home when we were both single, yearning to learn what it means to love the Lord with our whole hearts and seeking to prepare on purpose for marriage.  We finished with a prayer get-together with one other girl and the three of us looked up at each other and knew God started something special through that prayer time.  Beautiful Bricklayers was conceived.

Over the past three years, Laura has been a faithful cheerleader of my writing, speaking, and development as a person. I’ve learned a lot about true friendship from this sweet sister in Christ and it’s with joy that I present to you another video you can share with your friends when you are trying to explain a little better what is at the core of this ministry.

You’re always welcome to contact us here with any prayer requests, questions, or anything else you’d like to share with us.  We’d love to hear from you.

SECOND THING: Have you started following Cristina’s Bricklayers Pinterest Board yet? Take a peak!

THIRD (and last) THING for today:

Cristina Alexandroni, has been selected by million-copy best-selling author Shannon Ethridge to participate in an online mentorship program called B.L.A.S.T.: Building Leaders, Authors, Speakers & Teachers.

Alexandroni’s ultimate goal is to, through Beautiful Bricklayers, bless women who want to proactively prepare for marriage and purposefully draw near to Jesus. She yearns to effectively communicate biblically based principles and practical insights into building a foundation for those two most important relationships. Alexandroni loves to speak to youth groups and at women’s gatherings.

Unlike typical writer’s conferences, B.L.A.S.T. stretches over a 12-month period, providing students focused time to implement what they learn and truly hone their craft. Ethridge explains, “It’s not just lectures. It’s a laboratory. Students like Cristina will be creating videos, critiquing others’ work, and learning to gain the respect of potential publishers and editors.”With two decades of speaking experience and 20 successful books in both the Christian and mainstream markets, Ethridge says, “It’s a delight to coach aspiring writers and speakers. These valuable hands-on learning experiences can make a BIG difference as they pursue their publishing and speaking dreams.”

We wish Cristina the best as she begins the program! For more information about the B.L.A.S.T. mentorship program, go to

changing seasons

Recently, I returned from a much needed vacation in Curacao.  All week long, I was reminded that God commands us to rest. As we prepare for the autumn season let’s be intentional about incorporating rest into our daily, weekly, and yearly schedules.  This video shares more about this concept of rest.

I couldn’t help but share some photos from our time away:

(Yes, the water was really that blue.)

Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

Our first official video from this summer!

We had a summer series this past June where I (Cristina) taught the Bricklayers 101 class. Evan Walker filmed this series and made a couple shorter videos for us to also feature on our website. We are so grateful – he did such a great job! You’ll see this video on our website’s Home page too.

summer hibernation

It might seem as though the Bricklayers website went into a bit of a hibernation in July.

Well, not to worry, we aren’t sleeping.  We are preparing for the next season.

Cristina has been busy moving to Arkansas, the new Bricklayers Leadership team for the Orange County chapter is forming and meeting, and the blog is scheduled to be up and running twice a week as of August 1st.

Be sure to check back here for more encouraging content, practical tips for drawing near to Jesus, and preparing for marriage.  In the meanwhile, here’s a refreshing reminder to be faithful to Him:

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.  He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”

Psalm 37:5-6

linking arms in prayer

As you probably know, I’m about to embark on a 4 week Bricklayers summer series during the 4 Mondays in June. IMG_1416

I wanted to ask if you would be willing to commit to pray not only for me as I teach, but also for the women’s hearts to be “fertile soil” (Matt 13:8) that God’s Word and truth would soak into their lives and bear much fruit that will last (John 15:16). Pray for the Holy Spirit’s presence to be strong throughout this summer series.

If this is something you would like to commit to pray till the end of June, would you let me know through an email to saying: “I will pray” so that I know who to continue to send prayer update emails to?

Also, if you are in the Orange County area, you are welcome to come and sit in on any of the four classes that will take place at the ROCKHARBOR Costa Mesa campus. All the information is on our homepage and on our Facebook Page.

One of our prayers has already been answered: we asked God to provide us with a professional videographer so we can make this class available to girls in other regions.  In a matter of 2 weeks, God answered our prayer today with an excellent videographer who is offering his services to us at a generous discount. Praise God!!

With much love and appreciation,

“…some seeds fell on fertile soil and produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much as had been planted.”  Matthew 13:8

“I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” John 15:16
